I work as a licensed advanced nurse practitioner with prescriptive authority. I conduct face-to-face visits as well as secure online telemedicine services. I attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and received the Bachelor of Nursing and Master of Nursing degrees.
I am certified in Women's Health and worked in this specialty for several years prior to adding psychiatry. I earned a specialty in Adult Psychiatry from the University of Missouri, Columbia Missouri. In 2001, I transitioned into psychiatry. I began a private psychiatric practice in 2007. I work with individuals of all ages beyond age 16 and from a variety of backgrounds.
If medication appears to be an option to living better, I make effort to take care in finding exactly which medication will best assist you. I want your symptoms in remission--not just partial improvement. Fixed, corrected, healed. You have a life to live; I want for you to live well, with zest, vitality.
Most often, after getting to know your situation, I will describe in detail which medications might help, & answer the why, the how, the how long. I will provide information, answering any questions & concerns that you may have along the way. A goal is to be on the fewest number of medications to achieve your desired results and with no bothersome side effects. There are a variety of non-medicinal options available that my be helpful as well. At this point, your personal preferences will largely guide the final decision.
